My VBAC after long labor

My first daughter was born via emergency C-section, so this time, I was really hoping for a VBAC. I’m in Australia now and to help me prepare and stay confident throughout the process, I chose to take doula support from Rabeya Apu, and her presence truly made a big difference.
My labour continued for four long days. For the first three days, my cervix remained at just 1 cm dilation, despite the contractions. It was physically and emotionally exhausting, but I stayed hopeful.
On the fourth day, when I finally reached 2 cm, the doctors decided to break my water. Since I was GBS positive, they immediately started me on IV antibiotics to protect the baby. After about four hours, I reached 4 cm dilation, and at that point, they began inducing with oxytocin to help labor progress. Because of my previous C-section, I was kept under close monitoring using a wireless CTG. Throughout the labour time, I kept following the exercises and positioning techniques that I had learned from Rabeya Apu. Her guidance, even in those intense hours, gave me so much strength and clarity.
It was a long and challenging journey, but Alhamdulillah, it ended in a beautiful and empowering birth experience that I’ll always be grateful for.
